Natural History Museums in Nottingham

Check out the analogue telephone system, the Bassford Beam Engine, lace making machines, a variety of motor cars, motor cycles and cycles and the steam engine house.

Imagine yourself as a member of a Victorian home and a student during the Edwardian era. Go back to the 1920s and enjoy shopping at a variety of shops including a Victorian chemist and an Edwardian grocer. Visitors can participate in a variety of family events and workshops that are held at the Museum all through the year.

Nottingham Castle Open 2008 is an art and craft exhibition of East Midlands that will be held at the Nottingham Castle, Friar Lane, Nottingham, from 11th October to 2nd November 2008. The event is jointly organized with the New Art Exchange. The event starts at 7 am up to 5 pm. This is a free event and all are invited.

Talk by Dr Pamela Gerrish Nunn

As part of the ongoing “Laura Knight at the Theatre” celebrations, a special talk will be held on ’Dame Laura Knight’s Greatest Performance’ by Dr Pamela Gerrish Nunn, a leading researcher in women’s history and an Associate Professor at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. Dame Laura Knight was Britain’s leading impressionist painter. All are cordially invited to the talk to be held on 25th September 2008 at the Nottingham Castle, Friar Lane, Off Maid Marian Way, Nottingham. The talk will start at 15 hours till 16.30 hours. Join her for a Northern Ballet Theatre Dance Workshop on 24th September 2008 between 2 to 4 pm. The workshop will be held at the Nottingham Castle, Friar Lane, Off Maid Marian Way, Nottingham. The cost of the event is £10 and the event is open to all.
