Natural History Museums in Nottingham

The Industrial Museum is housed in the stable block and displays a myriad collection of textile, transport and technology used throughout the history of Nottingham. Check out the analogue telephone system, the Bassford Beam Engine, lace making machines, a variety of motor cars, motor cycles and cycles and the steam engine house.

Spread across five restored cottages from the 17th century, the Museum of Nottingham Life gives realistic glimpses into the domestic, recreational, educational and Nottingham Castlecommercial life of people in Nottingham. Imagine yourself as a member of a Victorian home and a student during the Edwardian era. Go back to the 1920s and enjoy shopping at a variety of shops including a Victorian chemist and an Edwardian grocer. Visitors can participate in a variety of family events and workshops that are held at the Museum all through the year.

TAGB British Open Championships

Date: 12 October 2008
Location: Trent FM Arena Nottingham, Nottingham.

Two thousand Tae Kwon-Do fighters, from over 450 clubs, will compete in the TAGB British Open Championships, on 12th October 2008 at the Trent FM Arena Nottingham. This event is organized by the Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain (TAGB) which is the largest single martial arts organization in Europe. The Arena has been divided into 18 zones where all the participants including men, women and kids of all ranks will compete. The past champions from previous World and European tournaments will also contest.

Nottingham Castle Open 2008

Nottingham Castle Open 2008 is an art and craft exhibition of East Midlands that will be held at the Nottingham Castle, Friar Lane, Nottingham, from 11th October to 2nd November 2008. The event is jointly organized with the New Art Exchange. The event starts at 7 am up to 5 pm. This is a free event and all are invited.

Disney On Ice Presents Disney/Pixar's Finding Nemo

Join clownfish Nemo, his dad Merlin and friend Polly in their hilarious escapades, in the undersea thriller Finding Nemo. This Disney Pixar animation is presented by Disney on Ice, from 1st to 5th October 2008 at the Trent FM Arena Nottingham, The Lace Market Nottingham. The movie takes the audience to great depths both emotional and oceanic as Nemo gets lost and his poor dad goes crazy searching for him. Comical yet sensitive, Finding Nemo has a universal appeal for all young and old.

The show starts from 7 to 11.30 pm and the tickets cost from £11 to £33.50.
