To experience what life was like in Nottingham 300 years ago, the
Brewhouse Yard Museum, located under the rock at the
Nottingham Castle, is the place to be. Spread across five restored cottages from the 17th century, the
Museum of Nottingham Life gives realistic glimpses into the domestic, recreational, educational and

commercial life of people in Nottingham. Imagine yourself as a member of a Victorian home and a student during the Edwardian era. Go back to the 1920s and enjoy shopping at a variety of shops including a Victorian chemist and an Edwardian grocer. Visitors can participate in a variety of family events and workshops that are held at the Museum all through the year.
